Katihar, June 15: At a press conference held in Katihar, AIMIM National Spokesperson Adil Hasan launched a sharp attack on the Bihar government, accusing it of neglecting the Seemanchal region. He stated that when the current government was formed under the leadership of the Chief Minister, promises were made to ensure the development of Seemanchal. However, even after six months, no significant developmental work has been undertaken in the region.

Adil Hasan said that AIMIM was the first party to demand a special status for Seemanchal. He questioned why districts such as Katihar, Araria, Purnea, and Kishanganj continue to lag behind in terms of development. He alleged that while residents of Patna receive electricity for 23 to 24 hours a day, areas like Balrampur, Barsoi, Azamnagar, Salmari, Pranpur, and Manihari in Katihar district continue to face a severe power crisis. He also expressed concern over the approaching monsoon season, stating that the administration has yet to make adequate preparations for possible floods.

During the press conference, Hasan also raised concerns regarding education. He claimed that among the 206 colleges recently announced by the government, Urdu had not been given due importance. He emphasized that Urdu is not the language of any particular religion or community but is one of India’s important languages and the second official language of Bihar. Despite this, he alleged that injustice is being done to the language.

The AIMIM spokesperson also questioned the role of Katihar MP Tariq Anwar. He said that the people of Katihar have repeatedly elected him and placed their trust in him, yet he remains largely silent on the district’s key issues. Hasan pointed out that many villages in Balrampur and Barsoi are still dependent on temporary bamboo bridges for transportation. He argued that merely writing letters to authorities is not enough to address public concerns.

Commenting on the political developments in West Bengal, Hasan said that the departure of several leaders and MPs from the Trinamool Congress had weakened the party. He questioned why some MPs were supporting rival parties and alleged that the BJP was engaged in breaking other political parties by influencing their MPs and MLAs. He asserted that AIMIM is capable of challenging the BJP directly and is not afraid of any political pressure.

On the occasion, former AIMIM assembly candidate Aftab Alam said that the party had received strong support from the people of Pranpur and that public backing for AIMIM continues to grow. Kanchan Das also stated that AIMIM is not a party of any single community but a political platform that respects and represents people of all castes and backgrounds equally.

Several party leaders and workers, including Afaq Ainul, Ziaul Haque, Muzaffar Alam, Tanveer, Mohammad Shahenshah, Munawwar Hussain, Nawaz Sharif, Mohammad Naved Alam, Maulana Rahat, Brahmadev Rai, and Ajay Rajvanshi, were present at the press conference.
